Rwanda is a small picturesque country in South East Africa. Although the genocide of 1994 is behind it, there are memorials all over the country to remember those lost during this human tragedy. I worked with the Rwanda Education Assistance Project and The Memory Project while in Rwanda, and saw the challenges facing teachers and students in rural schools. The photos taken during this 2011 trip will hopefully give you a sense of the indomitable and warm spirit of the people of Rwanda.
